Job!!!

Yay, I got a co-op offer from CSA (Canadian Space Agency) in Montreal! This is awesome, not only is it in an awesome city, I am working in a space-related company! My job is to design software for their telemedicine stuff, and although it is barely space related, it's definitely a start and I'll have to work really hard and impress them so that I may get an offer to go back! After all, CSA might lead to NASA or an aerospace company.

I'm getting yet another laptop, exact same as what I have now but with an ATi Mobility Radeon HD 4670 graphics card that comes with 1 GB of DDR3 RAM. I'm going to replace its processor with my T9800 and its HDD with my 500 GB 7200 RPM, and then sell this current laptop on eBay. The new laptop will be the ultimate multimedia machine ... It's thin, has the 2nd most powerful dual core, fastest RAM, HDD, and a very good graphics card, not to mention a 1080p RGBLED screen.

Update

Wow, haven't updated in how long? No I haven't disappeared.

Anyways a few new things of note. 1) I am officially behind in every single course due to last week's midterms. Every midterm was OK except circuits (MTE 120), on which the entire class probably got 40%.

Just got my work report back and got Excellent in every category.

Got a new Dell laptop, the Dell Studio XPS 1640. Bought it from Merk America, very good company. The only bad thing is that it came with a piece of dust under the screen. Specs:
  • Intel Centrino 2 Core 2 Duo T9800 (2.93 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB, 6 MB L2 cache)
  • 4 GB DDR3 RAM (1066 MHz)
  • 500 GB hard drive (7200 RPM)
  • 16" 1920x1080 RGBLED screen
  • Backlit keyboard
  • ATi Mobility Radeon HD 3670 (512 MB-2.2 GB DDR3 RAM)
  • Subwoofer
  • Amongst other things, like eSATA, sleep and charge USB, HDMI, DisplayPort, etc.
It's also very thin and quite light. The 6-cell battery lasts an amazing 2-3 hours while doing work on Balanced mode! I expected a 6-cell to power a 16" laptop with a T9800 and 7200 RPM hard drive for 1.5 hours max. Anyways bad thing is that I just found out I could've gotten a Sager with better specs overall for a bit cheaper. The 2 things that Sager attracts me are its T9900 processor and its GeForce GTX 260m graphics. However, it's 15.4", meaning 1680x1050 resolution (although minor), and it seems quite thick. Oh well, if someone is willing to buy this one, I will get that one. I sold my old Acer Aspire 6920G to my friend for $800, whose dad is buying it for his sister for university.

I hope to get a video review for my Dell up soon, probably by the end of tonight.

Anyways, back to studying calculus.

nVidia Forceware 185.85

Just installed nVidia Forceware 185.85 and it boosted my RAM from 4.6 to 5.2 while it lowered my Aero graphics performance from 4.6 to 4.5.

New iPhone 3G ... Again

So my 3rd iPhone has just arrived. Black, iPhone 3G, 16 GB.

My current 1 was dropped by someone on Saturday, allowing dust to go under the glass screen due to presumably a loose screen. So I called Apple up, and that person paid shipping + Invisible Shield, and $50 later, I got my phone. Took only 2 days to ship here, and picked it up from my office. I'm gonna spend my afternoon JBing it and reinstalling it to the way my current phone is before shipping this current one off. Then, I gotta start work report for my co-op term. Soooo gay.

Oh, might I add, I passed PDEng and my chemistry make-up exam with a 60%.
